Hi boys, we are starting a new theme this week all about the Beach. We are so lucky to live close to the beach and get to enjoy it. If you get a chance to visit the beach over the next few days, while following Covid 19 restrictions of course, try to collect some stones, shells and sand as we will need them throughout the week in our Aistear activities. Don't forget to keep sending in your competition entries. We will be picking a winner on Friday 5th June @4pm. We have got some entries in already and they look great. Well done! As always have a safe and great week! :-) Art Competition

Hi boys, we are continuing on with the theme of summer and season this week. we will be looking at trees in particular and how they show the different signs of the seasons. It was great to hear that so many of you managed to pick up your books from school last week. We hope it makes getting your work done a little easier. We will still put up the pages here just in case you didn't get to pick up your books. We also have a competition for you boys. To be in with a chance of winning a €10 voucher for Symths draw a picture of your favourite movie and email your photo to us. We will announce the winner next Friday 5th June. Have a great week! :-) 18th May
Hello to you all the senior infant boys and parents. We hope you are all safe and well. We are going to be putting some work on the new theme of the seasons and summer over the next couple of weeks. We were so impressed with the photos you sent us, thank you so much everyone. We love to see the boys learning about the world around them with their mini beast hunts and projects. Ms Milne spotted some wild flowers this week you can see them in the gallery! I wonder can you find these in your local area? or maybe you might see some other wildflowers you'd like to share with us. We love to hear about your favourite things too boys. We were so happy this week when we got an email from a parent and boy telling us about his favourite book. Have a look in the gallery to see! We'd love to hear about your favourite books too boys. In the meantime keep safe and looking forward to seeing your great work. Online training sessions may be of interest for some of you!Hi boys and parents,
I hope you are all keeping well. Just a quick message to let all parents and boys know that it is possible to download the Bua na Cainte programme which we do in school everyday. The boys have done the theme Mé Féin at the beginning of the year. So they might like to look at the first 4 lessons (ceachts) which have conversations and songs to revise. To download the Bua na Cainte programme for Irish go to: edco.ie/bua www.dropbox.com/sh/2l9k7prhpldw0od/AACvW1YAwQfDlaeDnbWBc1X0a?dl=0 Select the class level (Senior Infants), and then click to start a download of the file. Once the file has downloaded, click on it and it will begin to install on your computer. Once installed you will see a Bua na Cainte icon on your desktop. When you click on the icon you can use the word trial for both the login and password. You can then go to the theme Mé Féin and look at ceacht 1 on Tuesday, ceacht 2 on Wednesday, ceacht 3 on Thursday and ceacht 4 on Friday. Here is a link to a brief tutorial of how to use the Bua na Cainte Software. 5th May
We are starting a new Aistear theme this week boys. It's Space! This week we will be focusing on our Solar System and all the planets in it. We hope you enjoy learning about it and we look forward to seeing your pictures. You will find all the links and activities for the week in the weekly work section. Don't forget you can email us your work at [email protected] or hit the email link above. Have a great week! :-)
We are going to continue with our Spring theme and look at the life cycle of the frog this week. We loved receiving emails with photos of the boys doing their Aistear activities last week so thank you very much for sending them and feel free to email us any photos you’d like to see on our blog. We will assume that permission for the photos to be put on our blog is given unless you specify otherwise in the email. We found a great online resource for reading graded readers on https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/books/free-ebooks/ After registering and logging in you can browse the ebook library and find a reading level that suits your son. If it’s not possible to access this reading one of their own books for 5-10 minutes a day is perfect. Like last week we have included some phonics, maths and ideas for Aistear activities. We also have some Gaeilge vocabulary for vegetables – glasraí. Perhaps the boys could practise the following phrase with you: An maith leat ________? Do you like ______? Is maith liom _________. I do like ______ Ní maith liom ______ I don’t like_____ All of this weeks work will also be available to view here on our blog and you can also find links to great resources here. Or you can find the weekkly work on the school Aladdin app, under connect and homework. Our email address is [email protected]. If you click on the link at the top of the page it will bring you straight to our email. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to send us an email. Have a great week everyone. Kind regards, C. Milne, M. Mc Weeney & E. Fox. April 20th Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely Easter break and that the Easter Bunny left you something delicious! We had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed the beautiful weather as much as possible! We did plenty of gardening and walks, within the 2 km radius of course! We are looking forward to hearing all about your activities over the last two weeks. If you would like to share any of your pictures please send them onto [email protected]. We have set out some work for you for the next week. You can find it on the Weekly Work section here or Mam or dad can get it on the Aladdin App in the connect section under homework. Our Aistear theme this week is The Garden / Spring. We have included a simple aistear activity for each day. Our main focus this week is on The Butterfly, we hope you enjoy learning all about it. Hope you have a great week and don't forget to keep washing those hands, stay at home and practise social distancing. Be kind to your family and have fun! Ms.McWeeney, Ms. Milne and Ms. Fox |

Welcome to all the boys and parents of Senior Infants. We hope you are all keeping well at this time. We miss seeing you and teaching you everyday. We are looking forward to getting back to class as soon as we can. Until then we hope, boys, that you are helping out your parents as much as possible.
Ms. Burke has been very busy keeping everyone up to date on her principal blog but we thought it would be great to have our own blog where we can post your brilliant pictures and keep you all in touch with each other! Use our email to send us pictures of your work and of you having fun during this challenging time.
