If you have time, try some of these games.
Here are some ideas that you don’t need to go online for.
- Play ‘Eye Spy’ help practise your sounds. Make it more difficult by saying what letter the word ends with instead.
- Bingo. Make a grid like this and write a number in each box between 0-20 Get your mam, dad, brother, sister as many people as you like to do the same. One person is the caller and they call out a number, cross it off if you have it. The first person to cross off all their numbers is the winner.
- Change up the Bingo and write words instead of numbers.
- Bang! Write as many words as you can think of, copy some from your reader. Cut them up and put them in a bowl. Then write bang three times, cut them and add them in. Pick a word and read it, keep it in your pile. The other person does the same. Keep doing it until someone picks bang. If you pick bang you have to put all your words back into the bowl. Keep playing and the person with the most words at the end is the winner.
- Draw a picture using only shapes. Circle, square, rectangle, triangle and oval. Then colour it in.
